OUR PRIMARY LOOK TO BE BETTER PARTNER IS SANCCOB

WHY SANCCOB?

South Africa is a very important place for my family and I. We have been so fortunate to spend time in this amazing country and on more than one occasion ended up meeting the penguins in and around Simon’s Town and Stony Point on the Western Cape. Not only do my family love South Africa, we love all things natural and the African Penguin is high up on our list of favourites.

WHAT IS SANCCOB?

SANCCOB is a registered non-profit organisation whose primary objective is to reverse the decline of seabird populations through the rescue, rehabilitation and release of ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds – especially endangered species like the African penguin.

The African penguin, also known as Cape penguin or South African penguin, is a species of penguin confined to southern African waters. The number of breeding pairs, which once exceeded 140,000 in the late 1950s, fell to 69,000 in 1980 and down to just over 25,000 by 2009. More recently the African penguin population has declined by a further 70% since 2014 and has been listed as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species since 2010.

Herding Cats supports SANCCOB by sponsoring penguins and making donations when things go right with the firms/businesses we partner with.

George is our Chief Penguin Officer and will report any newsworthy penguin activity!

PARTNERING WITH CARBON NEUTRAL BRITAIN?

Herding Cats partners with firms and business across the UK and around the world. To do this right, we end up burning some carbon via our use of planes, trains and automobiles to go and spend time face2face with our herd. Additionally we all work from home so Herding Cats covers the carbon impact on a domestic basis too.

We go the extra mile (without burning any additional carbon) through our partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain to make sure we are a carbon negative business.
